Question about Cocatiel Food.?

September 8th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

Yep. That’s a typical cockatiel for you! Many tiels are real seed junkies and will scream their heads off if you don’t feed them their favorite foods. Your best bet at this point would be to ignore his squealing (and squeal is what he’ll do!) and feed him once in the eve. That way he’s forced to eat the stuff in his cage but he won’t starve because you’re still changing his food once a day.

You can also try feeding pellets as the others have suggested. There’s zillions of decent brands, depending if you like the organic stuff or can live with the dyed fruit scented stuff. I feed my guys Tropican pellets as well as tropican small parrot seed mix which includes stuff like beans and dried veggies/fruit. Plus they get some vitamins powder when they’re breeding. training any parrot to eat pellets can be a chore. Most birds will learn to eat them for the first month though some will take a year or more to even sample them. A lot be a lot of waste, but in the end it’s worth it. :-)
Some safe fruits and veggies include strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, oranges, mangoes, nectarines, peaches, spinach, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, parsnips and cooked potatoes. Stuff to avoid includes chocolate, booze, avocado, rhubarb and, depending on who you talk to, onions and garlic.

Foods that people don’t usually associate with birds include beef, pork, tuna and many other sea foods. Lamb, goat - in small amounts it’s okay, especially if they’re breeding.

Hope that helps!

Can the modern economy continue indefinitely? What is its impact on the living world?

August 11th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

As long as there is hard working individuals it will continue. As long as Americans have an American industry which by the way is a scary place there’s not much industry left in America. And if you don’t believe me look at where things are made on the bottom or sides of packages it says china japan germany and so on. I have yet to see a package in ten years that has said the Us. But if you can show me it would surprise me. The impact is severe people are dieing while politicans lobby over wars overseas and in america. People are starving to death because they can’t find jobs here and they can’t find jobs anywhere in the world. Its a price we all must pay for greed at the hands of our world leaders. Its like everyone said 911 was unexpected and I wonder how. The Us has been borrowing money for years now. I do not see how this had to do with freedom. 3000 people lost there lives that day because some politicain hopped a plane and decide he wanted money without paying it back. Thieves in islam are soon to be on the top of the list in jihad. I think the Us should tell the truth make things right to not just islam but others as well and expecally the 911 victims. If its a lie that people had to die for then why would anyone tell the truth about the war the economy the drug war and gang wars in america. Passing the buck as its called is why we suffer when our hand gets caught in the cookie jar we have to blame someone else. I think it can continue indefinitely as long as we are honest and love our fellow american, and globlal neigbors. We only have one world and if we take care of it we won’t live on it.

How can I do a subject to deal without putting my name on the deed?

August 10th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

Don’t do a deed, there are a bunch of idiotics roaming TV and the Internet who say do a Quit Claim Deed, which is a horrible way to do it.

All you have to do is put a “subject to” line in your offer/purchase contract which says “Subject to Buyer’s option to assign all or partial interest in the purchase to a third party.”

This simply means you have the sole option of either continuing with the transaction on your own, continuing the transaction but bringing in a third party as a partner, or assigning the rights to the transaction to another investor.

If you find another investor, you simply write up a very simple assignment (your escrow company will have several) which will essentially say “For the amount of $5,000 Bob Buyer assigns all rights to the purchase of 123 IWANNA HOUSE Street, in a transaction with Sally Seller, to Andy Assignee.

Although it would be a very good idea to run the paperwork past a good realestate attorney your first time out, to make sure it works for your state’s laws.

Good Luck

Looking for some advice about my marraige. Things are not what they used to be.?

August 9th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

Sounds to me like there is a lot of built up resentment on both sides that is manifesting itself as arguments over petty issues. Something much bigger lurks under the surface.

You feel undervalued and unappreciated. Chances are so does she. This has a knock on effect and the intimacy you had has gone. This isn’t about sex, as you say, it is about the affection and intimacy that a marriage needs, even if there is no sex. I would be willing to bet money that you two haven’t kissed or embraced for a long time, and by that I don’t mean a quick peck or hug. I mean a proper kiss and a proper embrace.

It’s usually a snowball effect. When the resentment builds, the intimacy starts to go, which in turn leads to more resentment because each side feels the other is to blame, and has stopped wanting the intimacy, and so the intimacy diminishes further, until you are only having sex out of a sense of duty, and to make the marriage appear normal when you both know it isn’t happy.

Like many have said here, talking is the place to start. Communication is key here. HOWEVER, there is only so much talking you can do. Actions are also key. Somebody has to make some changes here. Somebody has to make the first move and start to change, or all it will be is just talk. You have to be willing to make an effort. Both of you do.

So where to start? Well, set aside some time together just for you both. Get a babysitter if you can, if not, make a night in together. You must have time together without the children. This is essential. As long as you are together and having fun together, this is the main thing. Buy her flowers. Cook her a meal. Take her out somewhere. Make her feel special again. In turn, she will be more inclined to make that effort towards you.

It’s clear you love each other underneath all the crap. You’ve just become stuck in a rut, and need a bit of a kick up the backsides to get things moving again.

ER question?

August 8th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

at the end of last season ray and tony fought during luka and abby’s wedding reception and ray who was drunk was tossed out and as he was leaving he was struck by a big truck, unable to find him neela began searching for him and she found him he was in a hospital and then it was reavealed that he had both legs amputated and then his mom and childhood friend took him back home. the actor shane west who played ray will be on a new fox series. neela also broke things off with tony as he really hasn’t made a real commitment to her. after neela broke up w/tony she attended an anti-war rally where someone set off a m-80 firecracker and started a stampede in which neela was injured. as for luka he went back to croatia to care for his sick father however when he returns it will be for limited time in which he will leave for good. i hope that helped.

travelling alone to gold coast.. any tips or guide?

August 7th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

Well firstly, welcome to the gold coast!
I’m sure you will love it, just like we all do.
it all depends on what you enjoy as to the type of holiday you will have while you are here.
If your wanting leisure, we have that, if you want a party of a time, we also have that. All up to you really.
For a girl travelling by herself i def reccomend not going into surfers paradise- really late at night for walks, it is normally pretty safe with police and things, however at times its just a bit creepy and something i definatley wouldnt reccomend.
if your into shopping we have pacific fair, which is absolutley huge, very well could get lost there.
The weather at the moment, has been really nice, but pretty cold in the morning, dont forget a jumper and track pants!
If your into the whole markets and things, then we have carrara markets, which you can normally have a good look at some nic nac things they have on offer there.
Transport is not a problem here on the coast, buses take you close to anywhere you need to go and the drivers are normally pretty good with directing you around.
Just incase, for emergancy just remember to have money on you, for a phone call or whatever, you never know what you might need it for.
Remember to also bring a good pair of thongs/ sand shoes as high heels get sore after a while.
But most of all enjoy your time here!!!

What is it like to live in Singapore?

August 6th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

i am not a s’porean but i had lived there for 9 years. It’s a very efficient, systematic, clean and tidy country. (You won’t understand the word “efficient” until you have seen it in S’pore !).
Cost of living, is above average. If you have a good paid job, it’s great. If not, u need a bit of struggling. Ownership of car is very expensive, which you don’t really need bcos the public transports are VERY efficient. Private housing are very expensive. But the government HDB flat are much cheaper.
S’pore is a fair countr. The wages/salaries are determined by the market without government interruption - as long as you have the ability (and efficient), you should able to find a job (regardless of race or other issues).
Economic is of cos better than a lot of countries - due to its efficient government monetary policies and other policies.

Singaporean and their financial status : it’s a very competitive country, there is no much social benefit provided. Thus, everyone are racing against each other to strive for the top position. Buying massive life / medical insurances are necessity. Are they happy ? i am not sure. They seems like very happy people (bcos they are proud of the efficient government and the great economic), but from a foreigner point of view, they might not - due to the stress in work, the competition, the tiny little living area… (not quite happy to me).
But as long as you are going for a job - not for life, i would say it’s a great experience. A 5 years job in S’pore equal to a 10 yrs (or more) work experience in many other countries. The best thing you’d learnt is to be efficient.
The children (from 10~16) who migrated with their parants from S’pore to here (where i am now staying), ALL of them are top students in the class here. Their top-student position won’t change until they ‘adopt’ to the local students’ study attitude…

Did La Damian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers die in a car wreck?

August 5th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

The father of NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson was killed Friday when the pickup truck in which he was riding flipped on a highway.

Oliver Tomlinson was killed at about 1:30 p.m. in the one-vehicle rollover, said Charlie Morgan, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman. Tomlinson was 71.

The driver, Ronald C. McClain was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where he later died, Morgan said. The 48-year-old McClain was Tomlinson’s brother-in-law, authorities said.

The Department of Public Safety said that according to the report, McClain veered off the roadway and overcorrected, sending the car across the highway and into a ditch. The report does not mention a blown tire as initial accounts of the suggested. Both men were thrown from the truck, Morgan said.

Jewel Tomlinson, Oliver’s wife and LaDainian’s stepmother, said her husband and McClain had been returning to Waco after a trip to the family home in Tomlinson Hill, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported in its online edition Friday. She said Oliver, who lived in Chilton, had been staying in Waco recently while recovering from an illness.

LaDainian Tomlinson starred at Waco’s University High School before going on to TCU and the San Diego Chargers.

What is the Best TV for just watching DVDs..(lcd…..or? ).I don’t plan on hooking up to any other source?

August 4th, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

It depends on several factors, but here are some of the general ideas.

Plasma tv’s generally have the best black levels and very good color reproduction. They don’t have any issues with fast motion like LCD. And for sizes 50″ and larger they better priced. However, if this is going in a room with a lot of windos and light plasma’s have a tendency to have alot of glare as there are made with a large sheet of glass. Also some will tell you that burn in is an issue, but it really isn’t with the new plasma’s.

LCD’s are better for bright rooms and screens smaller than 42″. If you go with LCD make sure it does fast motion sceens well, as the refresh rate of some of the inexpensive sets is not very good.

For a good deal on Plasma TV if you don’t need a TV tuner or speakers, look at the Panasonic commercial plasmas. For less than $1800.00 US you can get a 50″ that is very nice looking. On par with the best out there.

Where are the trendy neighborhoods in the Cleveland area?

August 3rd, 2008 by wernerhumphrey

depends how close you want to be. as long as you dont live in the city you can find someone nice but it will cost you. Lakewood is nice. there is a long street(sorry i forget the name. its a route i know that much) there with a few good miles of houses and small shops, restaurants, etc. Westlake is about a half hour or so from Cleveland but its got a lot of fun stuff to do. Check out Crocker park. Its super trendy. Its basically brand new. Its all great shops and restaurants with luxury apartments above them. they have a site>>> www.crockerpark.com

Cleveland Heights is nice too. there are concert venues, great food, and fun little shops. and only about 10 minutes or so from the downtown area. anywhere near Coventry Road is a good spot. there are lovely town homes there too.

hope you enjoy Cleveland.
